The Partners, Colin Comerford and Ger Foley, came together to form the business in 2011 with a view to providing a different type of accountancy practice that would deliver a first-class service to our clients and put the smooth running of their business at the forefront of everything we do.

Meet our team
A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ger has been a practising Chartered Accountant for 20 years, spending the first 12 years of his career gaining valuable experience as an Audit Senior Manager in EY, whom he qualified with after studying at Waterford Institute of Technology. Ger has also gained considerable experience in business planning and advisory including business start-ups and restructuring. He has worked with major international clients as well as local SME's, sole traders and partnerships. In 2011 Ger formed Comerford Foley with Colin Comerford. He prides himself on delivering a personal professional service. Ger is originally from Tramore where he resides with his wife and two young sons. He enjoys all sport and regularly runs and cycles and volunteers training underage teams with Tramore GAA.
Colin has over 20 years of experience in taxation and financial services. He has previously worked in in a "Big 4" tax department for 8 years before becoming a self-employed tax consultant and financial advisor in 2006. His client base includes sole-traders, partnerships, small companies and tax work for large multinational corporates as well as private clients. In 2011 he formed Comerford Foley with Ger Foley. He is a Registered Tax consultant as a member of the Irish Taxation Institute and a Qualified Financial Advisor. Colin is originally from Kilkenny but now resides in Tramore. He is a GAA fan and also is a keen runner.
A member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, Darragh has been a practising accountant for 19 years. He has gained considerable experience in audit and assurance as well as general accounting and business advisory services. Darragh is also a Member of the Institute of Taxation of Ireland, and prior to joining the firm he was Tax Manager for a medium sized accountancy practice based in Waterford. Darragh is originally from Athlone and currently resides in Waterford with his wife and young family. He is a keen rugby supporter and also enjoys swimming.
Aedin joined Comerford Foley in January 2015 and her work includes accounts preparation for sole traders, partnerships, farmers and audit exempt companies, together with tax & VAT returns. She is proficient in the operation of both Xero and SAGE accounting packages. As a qualified Accounting Technician and Tax Technician, Aedin has over 25 years experience, having trained with a small practice and then working in industry for 5 years before taking up employment with Ernst & Young. There she managed their Small Accounts section for over 16 years. Originally from Newrath, she now resides in Ballyduff and in her spare time she enjoys coaching the local under 10 girls Gaelic Football and volunteers with Ballyduff soccer club and the RNLI
As Tax Senior, Ludmila is responsible for managing the needs of our Income & Corporate Tax clients and has built up great experience and knowledge in these areas. She joined us in 2015, after obtaining a degree in Accountancy and Audit in her home country of Moldova. She has progressed through the ACCA professional accounting exams and, motivated to become a professional tax consultant, her goal was to complete the Irish Tax Institute professional tax exams. She has now achieved this goal which is fantastic for her and for our clients. In her free time she enjoys walking, gardening and socialising with family and friends
Catherine joined Comerford Foley in August 2018 and her work includes management accounts and year end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and audit exempt companies, together with tax & VAT returns and also sourcing of asset finance for clients. She has achieved a Degree in Management Accounting and is also a qualified Accounting Technician and Payroll Technician.
Catherine has over 14 years’ experience, having trained with a small practice in Kilkenny and then working in industry for 11 years in both family owned and multi-national businesses. Originally from Paulstown in Kilkenny she now resides in Dunmore East with her husband and two children and in her spare time she enjoys walking and volunteering for her local hurling club as Treasurer.
Dee joined Comerford Foley in February 2018 & brings with her a Bachelor Degree in Business & Marketing from Waterford Institute of Technology. Dee is an experienced Sales & Operations manager with a demonstrated history of working within the food & beverages industry. Dee has also worked as part of the Human Resources team as a HR Generalist & Island of Ireland Recruitment Manager while working with a large Multinational Organisation.
As part of her role as Office Manager, Dee manages client queries, workflow process & office administration. She is most likely to be the person you speak to first when you get in contact with us! In her spare time, Dee likes to spend time in the gym and enjoying the fabulous Tramore coast line with her family & friends.
Brenda joined Comerford Foley in June 2021 as an Accounts Senior. She has a degree in Business Studies specializing in Economic and Finance. She has one final exam to complete her studies with the ACCA which she will sit in September this year.
She is a welcome addition to the team here and brings a lot of experience with her from previous roles that will help our clients. Her skills include accounts, payroll, bookkeeping and tax returns. She is proficient in the use of Xero, Sage and Micropay. She has two children and resides in Kilmacow. Her hobbies include reading and running.
Our client base is varied and we work with farmers, retailers, doctors, mechanics, pharmacists, small growing companies and multinational companies. Our clients are based throughout Ireland and the UK. We strive to fully understand our clients businesses and in that way we can work together to find practical solutions to business issues. Many clients have been with us from the start and it has been exciting to watch their businesses grow and prosper despite challenging economic conditions. Our clients are working hard to develop and grow and are striving to prosper in their business sector.
